Dubai: Members of the Indian community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have bid farewell to Consul General of India in Dubai H.E. Satish Kumar Sivan as he concludes his tenure, with community organisation Aim India Forum expressing gratitude for his support to Indian nationals and various welfare initiatives.
In a statement, Aim India Forum said it had worked closely with the Consulate General of India under Sivan's leadership on several community welfare programmes aimed at assisting Indian expatriates in the UAE.
The organisation said the partnership included organising Labour Awareness Camps to educate workers about their legal rights, labour laws, welfare schemes and consular services. It also highlighted its role during the 2024 Amnesty Programme, during which volunteers assisted Indian nationals with documentation, counselling and other support. The organisation further noted that it had worked with the Consulate in addressing issues faced by Indian workers, including labour disputes, unpaid wages, passport-related problems, medical emergencies and repatriation during difficult situations.
