UAE Foreign Trade Minister visits Thumbay Medicity

Ajman: UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi visited Thumbay Medicity in Ajman on Friday, marking his first visit to one of the region's largest integrated centres for medical education, healthcare and research.

The minister was received by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, and Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of the Healthcare Division, along with senior academic and clinical leaders.

During the visit, Dr. Al Zeyoudi toured various facilities at Thumbay Medicity, including Gulf Medical University and Thumbay's teaching hospitals. He reviewed the institution's educational, healthcare and research activities and interacted with members of the leadership team.

According to Thumbay Group, discussions during the visit focused on the role private healthcare and educational institutions can play in strengthening the UAE's knowledge economy, advancing medical research and supporting the country's efforts to attract global talent and investment.

The minister later met Dr. Thumbay Moideen at the President's Office at Thumbay University Hospital. The meeting also explored opportunities for further growth in healthcare, life sciences and research sectors in line with the UAE's long-term development goals.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Thumbay Moideen said the visit was a recognition of the contribution made by private institutions towards the country's healthcare and education sectors.

"It is an honour to welcome His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to Thumbay Medicity. A visit like this affirms that the work of educating healthcare professionals and investing in medical research is part of the nation's wider economic journey," he said.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi praised Thumbay Group's contribution to healthcare services, medical education and research in the UAE.
